Washington, D.C. – On the heels of a new video investigation showing two Planned Parenthood clinics, in Maui and Honolulu, advising a woman how best to procure a sex-selective abortion of her baby girl, Planned Parenthood has refused to acknowledge the problem as more video evidence by Live Action continues to surface. Planned Parenthood claims publicly to condemn sex-selective abortion but continues to provide it. This week, a bill was introduced in the Senate to ban the practice.
Today, Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, blasted the abortion giant in a statement:
“Planned Parenthood is determined to salvage every dollar out of as many abortions as possible, regardless of the reasons. The targeting of pre-born girls for often late-term, sex selective abortion is a growing problem in the United States, exacerbated by the fact that many women are coerced into these often late-term abortions.
“As the evidence has continued to mount, Planned Parenthood has run out of excuses. While it claims to support women, the abortion leader refuses to end its participation in this violent and discriminatory practice.”
Yesterday’s video is the fourth in Live Action’s “Gendercide” project, documenting Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation’s support for sex-selective abortion in America. Footage for 6 different clinics in 4 different states can be viewed at www.ProtectOurGirls.com, a hub of research and information on sex-selective abortions.
Six studies in the past four years indicate that there are thousands of “missing girls” in the U.S. from sex-selective abortion. The U.K., India, Australia, and other countries ban sex-selective abortion, but the United States does not on a federal level.
Live Action is a youth led movement dedicated to building a culture of life and ending the human rights abuse of abortion. They use new media to educate the public about the humanity of the unborn and investigative journalism to expose threats against the vulnerable and defenseless. More information at LiveAction.org.
